Artwalk

Last night was a great night to be in Mobile, Alabama. The weather was amazing and folks got out for the May Artwalk. Art viewers were treated to two exceptional shows, one at Chesser of book arts, and another at The Skinny Gallery (Mobile Arts Council) of Tut Riddick's paintings of musicians. If you missed it please go see these shows! Space 301 has an interesting show of collaborative sculptures, and I enjoyed a conversation with Rachel Wright there. I chatted with Charlie Smoke at the Art's Council, as well as artist and friend Tut Riddick and her sweet husband d, Harry. Saw Pinky Bass there as well as many others. I saw many former students and it was gratifying to see them out looking at art. Miss Sally was running the show and doing a good job!

Wayne McNeil put the show at Chesser together, and it included his work, his students' work, Rita Skiadas' work, and Doug Baulos' work. It made me want to make books again.

Today I am posting pictures from Artwalk. I have to get myself together here at home and make a party for Mother's Day and Mama's birthday. We are going to see Cabaret at the Theatre Guild tonight so I will report on that tomorrow. Also my brother has some new Daddy songs posted for you to listen to. Use this link to access new music from DADDY.

You did a great job characterizing the LODA Artwalk exhibits. I especially loved the Tut Riddick paintings and the Space 301 sculptures. Y'all need to check them out!
