Siena

Being at Spannocchia is delightful. We spend our days studying, in a seminar format, philosophy and art, in a beautiful and historical setting. We do not cook or clean, or even think about mundane everyday tasks (ok we have to wash our clothes). We think of it as scholarly assisted living. Yesterday the bus came and took us to Siena, for our assisted living day off the mountain. It was coolish in Siena, but quite clear. The Sienese were out and about on Saturday. I strolled through the city with my friends, enjoying the sites and sounds of one of my favorite places on earth. We dined well, had great conversations, enjoyed the camaraderie and fellowship of like minded friends. Today I am going to a small town near Spannocchia called San Galgano. More later...and happy Birthday to my Gemini pals who are celebrating today!!
